Daphne Mashile-Nkosi is currently the chair of Kalagadi Manganese (Pty) Ltd, a venture which will fund the first greenfields manganese project to be started in South Africa in over 30 years. Daphne has travelled a long journey from her childhood in Pilgrims Rest, where she was the youngest of four children growing up in an impoverished family. In those days she could never have imagined presiding over a multi million dollar joint venture deal with ArcelorMittal set up to complete a US$1.4 billion manganese mine and sinter plant in the Northern Cape and a smelter in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
Mrs. Daphne Mashile-Nkosi is a Founder Member of Temoso Technologies. Mrs. Mashile-Nkosi serves as Executive Chairman at Kalagadi Manganese (Pty) Ltd. She serves as the Non-Executive Chairperson of WDB Investment Holdings Pty Ltd. Mrs. Mashile-Nkosi serves as the Chairperson of Bakhazi-Banalima (Pty) Limited, Kalahari Resources (Pty) Limited, Lesedi Drilling and Mining (Pty) Limited and the Mpumalanga Gaming Board. She is a Non-Executive Director at Exxaro Resources Ltd. She serves as a Deputy Chairperson and Trustee of the Women’s Development Bank Trust where she was a Founding Member and a Development Officer for WDB Micro Finance, assisting women to access financial resources in the rural areas of South Africa. She served as the Independent Non-Executive Chairperson of Alviva Holdings Limited (formerly, Pinnacle Technology Holdings Ltd.) since August 18, 2011 until October 27, 2014. She has been a Non-Executive Director at The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited since March 01, 2015. Mrs. Mashile-Nkosi has been a Non Executive Independent Director at Heritage Collection Holdings Ltd. since May 2006 and Metmar Limited since May 8, 2006. She has been Non-Executive Director at Traxys Africa Holdings from May 08, 2006. She serves as a Director of various Eyesizwe group companies, Nuworld Logistics and Thari Mining, Q2 Petroleum Consortium (Pty) Limited, Temoso Technologies. and Women’s Development Bank Investment Holdings (Pty) Limited. She is a Director of Eyesizwe Coal. She is also a shareholder of Cellsaf. She also serves as a Trustee of the FirstRand Empowerment Trust. She was nominated by WDB to study development economics. Mrs. Mashile-Nkosi holds a Small Business Management Diploma from Wits Business School.
